6. Building Inspector and Pest Inspector

When you have gone to contract on a property, you will need to find a Building Inspector and a Pest Inspector. Ask questions and find out who is reliable and thorough. Make it your business to know the products on the market, the basic building code requirements and ask them about their use and application.

You need a team who not only has the ability to assist you in making choices about property purchases, but will also give you the ability to discharge yourself from a contract should it not come up to your requirements.

7. Building Industry Consultants

These consultants would include Town Planners, Architects, Quantity Surveyors and Draughtsmen. You may have to shop around. Ask about their past and present projects in your target areas. Go and see some of their work. Become familiar with your selected areas.
